WE MADE IT - ESTES PARK, CO
MORE THAN A WEEK CONFERENCE
Our youth group wants to go to Japan in 2010!
Mariko hails from Japan and would like the youth to experience the Christianity movement in her country, as well as understand the importance of AB Missionary work.
Our AB Missionaries, the Armagosts, focuses primarily on youth and children's ministries. The Armagosts are serving with several churches of the Japan Baptist Union as they seek to reach and to disciple young people in the Kansai area of Japan.
We are thrilled as the Spirit of the Lord moves among us and continues to lead and guide our Youth Group!
Fundraisers
We know this trip is going to be extremely expensive - almost out of reach - but we are doing our best to try. We have held a car wash, spread mulch for our neighbors, baked pies, and
The youth went to Grace Baptist Church on Sunday November 15th. The youth talked about the upcoming mission trip to Japan and performed one of our skits. We received a generous donation amount of $507. Thank you God!!
The Latest Happenings Preparing for Japan
On our way to meet at Grace Baptist Church to prepare for the skit, we got lost, but we did make it there. Our experience showed us God knows where we are and where we want to go. God has a purpose and is guiding us, but we are the one driving our own way, sometimes going the wrong way....…
Thank God that we made it and had a good time at Grace Baptist Church !
We added Karen words in the signs and practiced. The sanctuary was small, so it was difficult to perform. Their faces and attitudes were absolutely sincere. Apparently, the skit had moved the congregation and we received heartfelt applause and encouragement.
We have started having regular meetings once a month in addition to the Sunday School time. So far, we have had two meetings. We have discussed God’s heart for the world, why each young person wants to be a part of this mission team, the overall and individual goals for the trips, the concerns that are on their minds, what they think they can contribute to the team, and what they expect to learn. We have studied the Japanese language. This meeting is not only about the mission trip to Japan, but also for youth team building and most importantly for worshiping God.
Please water and fertilize our seeds, and most importantly, give them sunshine. They will grow!!!
Recently, I talked with John and Tomoko Armagost, www.armagostjapan.org/ our missionaries to Japan . Tomoko said that her home church in Hiroshima would also welcome us. So, we have been invited to Nara Church, Kobe Church and Hiroshima Church . God is guiding us. I also received some e-mails from Japan how the youth members in Japan are excited. They are studying English very actively because they want to have nice conversations with the American youth. One parent
e-mailed me that her son and daughter did not like English and their grades were bad; however, their grades in English are getting better and better because they want to talk to the American youth. The Japanese youth are very excited and they do not expect the American youth to speak Japanese. We figure: Why don’t we surprise them and speak Japanese?
Additionally, we received another generous donation of $300 from Marie Madison. We thank you very much for your support and love. How wonderful our God is!!! Praise God!!
