My calling is to be your pastor -- in helping you find your church home.
You who read this have been in my prayers. Prayers for God’s presence to be sensed; for health, healing & wholeness; for faith; for you to recognize God’s love for you; for wisdom in your decision making; for you to release all that weighs you down; and find yourself receiving God’s peace, for the living of these, your days, as gifts from your grace-filled God.
Will you gather with us as we worship our living God and open God’s Word as a community of faith? I hope we can schedule a time to visit so I can tell you some of what God is doing within and from this corner of Red Bridge and Wornall, and if First Baptist does not seem to be your church home, it will be my pleasure to help you find a gathering of God’s people that can become your church home.
God has chosen not to be God, without you and me. God’s Kingdom--being built here on earth, as it already is in heaven--is a come-as-you-are celebration. Oh that you would be able to hear God speak through scripture, prayer, song, and/or any of us here at First Baptist…speak of God’s love for you, God’s mercy that’s been waiting too long, God’s plans for you – and I post this because I know what God is planning for you. The LORD has good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. The Lord wants to give you hope and a good future (Jeremiah 29.11) -- and those of us who gather as First Baptist want to help this good future come to you and yours.
I left out one prayer in my list above that I have already lifted on high: a prayer for strength for you – strength enough to gather with us, call, email, or somehow reach out that we may know who you are and may welcome you.
Rejoice! I say it again: Rejoice!
The Lord is near.
Be anxious about nothing.
Make your requests known to God, with thanksgiving
so God's peace might guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4.4
